St. John Paul II Oratory

St. John Paul II Memorial Oratory is a small church located at the Crescent Shopping Centre in Dooradoyle on the Southside of Limerick City.

Mass is celebrated in the Oratory at 12 Noon on the first Saturday of each month – subject to change at busy times such as Eastertide – check Twitter.com for updates around the beginning of the month.

The original oratory was built to commemorate the visit of Pope John Paul II to Limerick on 1st October 1979.

The present oratory opened west of the old one in 2016/2017 when the old one was demolished for the expansion of the shopping centre.

While the new oratory was being built, the oratory temporarily located in a unit inside the shopping centre.

The oratory is in St. Paul’s Parish (Pastoral Unit No. 6) in the Diocese of Limerick.
