Catholic Schools Week 2019

This week we are celebrating the work of our local Catholic Schools.  We reflect on the Gospel values on which all Catholic schools are built.  We look at how we celebrate our faith in our Catholic Schools and how this faith connects us to others.  Therefore, our faith calls us to action together.

This year, Friday of Catholic Schools Week falls on February 1st, the Feast Day of Saint Brigid.  Our children will be making Saint Brigid’s Crosses and recalling the story of Saint Brigid.

Catholic Schools Week is a special time to remind our children of the gift of grandparents and this is especially celebrated in our schools.

We give thanks for the gift of our own local Catholic Schools and we thank them for the way they will promote Catholic Schools Week.

Tiny Sebastian who with her family moved to our Parish from India seven years ago died unexpectedly on 15th January last.  Tiny was a nurse, wife to Cyril and mother to Riyana aged 8 and Riyon aged 4.

A fundraiser is being held by the community of Patrickswell-Ballybrown to help the family with funeral costs of repatriating Tiny’s remains back to India and to express our support to the family at this sad and traumatic time.  Donations may be placed in the boxes at the back of the Churches, Resource Centres and in Patrickswell Post Office.
