Parish Weekly Newsletter 03/04 November 2018

This Saturday we welcome to our 6.30pm evening Mass in Patrickswell and in Ballybrown to our 8.00pm Mass the Families and Friends of Deceased Parish Members who have died during the past year.

For extended family or friends who died during the past year, there is a book in the church where you may write their names and a remembrance tree is also there on which to place their names.

National Collection for the World Meeting of Families 2018

Will take place at all Masses throughout the country next weekend 10th and 11th November , which will be the Fifth National Collection for the World Meeting of Families 2018.  The overall cost to the Church in Ireland for hosting WMoF2018 comes to €19.4m.  To date €15.4m has been raised by way of local church collections and other donations.  This leaves a deficit of €4m.  Next weekend’s national appeal is to support WMoF2018 and reduce the debt.  Your generosity will be very much appreciated.  Thank you.

Purgatorial Offerings: “It is a holy and a wholesome thought to pray for the dead that they may be loosed from their sins”. (2 Macc. 12:46)

There will be special envelopes for the Purgatorial Offerings available in both churches for those not using the weekly envelopes.  Masses for the deceased are celebrated on First Fridays and other times throughout the year.

Free Bus for the older person from Adare, stopping at Patrickswell bus stop to Crescent Shopping Centre. It departs Embury Close at 10.30am, stopping also at the Heritage Centre (except Bank Holidays when it departs one hour later).  The return trip is two hours after arrival at the Shopping Centre.  The drop off points are the same as the outgoing ones.  For more information contact Liam McDermott tel. 061 396904.
