From January to March 2022 a Nine Week Novena was held at various locations throughout Ireland, in honour of Saint Patrick, to pray for the renewal of faith in Ireland at this time.  The venue for Week 7 of the novena was Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Patrickswell on Wednesday evening 2nd March, Ash Wednesday.

The Novena was launched in Armagh in January by Archbishop Eamon Martin, Catholic Primate of All Ireland, and was celebrated each consecutive week over nine different venues associated with Saint Patrick throughout the island of Ireland.

The national novena to Saint Patrick is the inspiration of Fr. John Mockler SDS.  Fr. Mockler said, “Ireland needs Saint Patrick. He is God’s gift to Ireland. Let us celebrate the gift of faith he brought to Ireland.”
