The Pastoral Unit of our area comprising the Parishes of Saint Paul’s Dooradoyle, Mungret-Crecora-Raheen, and Patrickswell-Ballybrown recently held a meeting in order to prepare for Lent in this time of pandemic.  Mr. Donal Fitzgibbon is Chairman of the Pastoral Unit, Fr. Michael Cussen is Moderator and Patricia O’Rourke is Secretary.    They came up with the idea of a Lenten Pack for each family to collect on Ash Wednesday from their local parish church.   Each Lenten Pack contains  a Lenten Information letter, Blessed Ashes, Trócaire box, Lenten prayer card, and Letter to God on which we invite you to write your own letter to God during this challenging time of COVID-19.  The letter is to be placed in the enclosed envelope and sealed.  These letters can be left at any one of our Churches in a basket near the Altar.  They will remain there during Lent and on Holy Saturday night they will be placed in the Paschal Fire and burned.

PLEASE DO NOT PUT MONEY IN THE ENVELOPE AS IT WILL NOT BE OPENED.

We will all highlight the Season with the colour Violet to remind us that it is a Penitential Season, a season of preparation for the great moment in the Church’s year when we celebrate the Central Mystery of our faith which should fill us with hope, viz. Christ Dying and Rising.

Full details available in Lenten Pack which may also be collected from the Parish Office.
