Christmas Greetings from Bishop Brendan Leahy

As we approach Christmas and the New Year, I want to send you my best wishes. This festive season reminds us that, no matter what we have been through, Light shines in the Darkness.  There is Hope.

I also want to let you know that 2025 is a special year for Catholics as it is a “Jubilee Year”.  On Christmas Eve at 6.00pm Irish time, Pope Francis will open the Holy Door in Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome to mark the beginning of this special year.   The event will be shown live on various media.  The theme for the Jubilee Year 2025 is ‘Pilgrims of Hope’.

Let’s join together in prayer for this coming Jubilee Year.
