A Prayer Labyrinth

……. is an external aid to prayer which emerged in Christian prayer during the Middle Ages.  The most famous example of a Christian labyrinth intended for prayer is the stone labyrinth inlaid on the floor of the Chartres Cathedral in France.  However we need go no further than our near neighbour Milford Parish Church in Castletroy to find an example of a Outdoors prayer labyrinth.  It can also be in the form of a simple Finger Labyrinth seen below.  Since a prayer labyrinth is an external aid to prayer, we can use it to help with forms of prayer that are already familiar to us, such as the Rosary.

Further information on how to pray using a labyrinth is available from the Diocese of Limerick HERE.
